Hi all, Readers may recall my post from last year after stumbling over two Victorian S class locos near my local shops: https://www.marklin-user...t47967-Victorian-S-ClassToday I went past the flour mill and the following motley crew (not Mötley Crüe) had dropped off a wheat train: This is a Victorian P class diesel in front with two B class diesels at rear. Those B class diesels are 70 years old this year, and still working for a living! Also production line sisters - B75 and B76, which both went into service in July 1953. The surrounds were awkward so I couldn't get a shot clearly showing both ends at once, but these are two-ended ("Nohab" style) diesels, although the smaller upright windows more resemble the EMD E/F units. Here's another sister in the original Victorian Railways livery: https://en.wikipedia.org...ailways_B_class_(diesel)This article include a lot of nice photos and interesting information on them: http://www.victorianrail...0power/bdiesel/bdie.html |

The EMD 575, 579, and 675 engines were very robust! I'm sure the generators were as well.

Tonight, S-class 312, which entered service in 1961, has spent another day hauling, and waits for morning to start work again... - Herman |
