Hi everyone,

I started to go through some boxes of Marklin parts that was stored away for nearly 25 years, I haven’t seen this stuff since I was 15 years old.

There was so many great finds, including some old invoices and a bunch of spare parts.

One part that puzzles me is this a thin strip of metal that’s bent like a hook. I have attached a photo for you all to see.

There is so many of these, seems that there are 3 to a pack. I have about 6 of these packs, I’m puzzled to what it might be.

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks,

Eddie

Those parts allow fixation of K track to the bridge sections.
You can see in the manual: https://static.maerklin....8cf0bea9391572012337.pdf

Hi everybody
Sorry Miguel, but I fail to see where these parts are connected with Märklin plastic bridges.
Märklin never provided any fixing solution of C, M, K tracks on its plastic bridges.

Having said that I still don't see what these parts are.
Are they metal or plastic parts?
Cheers
Jean

They are metal and a pack is included in every one of the K track bridges. I am not sure if they are included in any of the bridges for C track since they appear to have a solid bottom.

Hi Jean,

long ago I bought Märklin bridge sections for M and K track and the bridge sections that could fit K track brought these pieces.
If you check pages 7 and 8 of the manual in the link I posted you can see how that can be used.
They are metal and there is the need to bend them fix the K track to the bridge.

Cheers,
Miguel

I don't have Märklin bridges for C track but it doesn't make much sense to include those pieces as the bridge floor is not open and so the piece can't be used unless the bridge floor is drilled.

Hi everyone,

To answer the question from Jean, the parts are metal.

I think these parts must have come from the sections of bridge and ramps I have (that’s why I have so many of them). I was wondering why they were never used (packets are all sealed), that’s because I used the M track over the bridge sections.

It all makes sense, thank you so much for solving the mystery!

Regards,

Eddie
