Some advice please

I have quite a few of the longer express coaches and I have fitted interior lighting using the 2 x 73401 lighting strips. I usually run these coaches in rakes of 5 or 6 with current conducting couplers between the coaches and one pick up.

I have some of the new 73411(Flicker Free) lighting strips. I am trying to understand what my requirement will be

1) does each coach require 2 x 73411?
2) does each coach require 1 x 73401 and 1 x 73411
Or
3) will one 73411 provide flicker free lighting for 5 coaches when combined with 9 x 73401?

Many thanks
Adrian

Far as I know they are not available yet. I use Viessmann light bars which are flicker free and one fits a coach. ESU do something similar and are also good.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

I don't believe the 73411 will change the flickering state of any existing 73401 strips. It will just pass the pickup shoe connection through like the 73401 strips do.

I just want to know the length, as Marklin doesn't state in the specs. I like thet they are dimmable.

Thank you David, you are right not out yet. Supposedly in March. Can you let me have the Viessmann product number?
Many thanks

I asked this question to the store where I buy my Märklin stuff. They did not get this information from Märklin yet. I was probably not the first one to ask, since they seemed pretty annoyed that Märklin couldn’t provide this simple data.

Ok, of course we know they fit the longest cars, but I have some 26 cm. and shorter ones.

Although there are no details for the 73411 lighting kit, the product description does include this statement: "The circuit board can be cut at several locations for shorter cars." That seems typical for premade LED strips, so you shouldn't have a problem with the shorter passenger cars. I'm guessing that the 7341x series is the same as the 7340x series with a factory installed buffer circuit to provide the flicker free lighting.

Cheers,

Harold.

Yes, but you don't just cut them with a saw. I wonder if a Dremel cutting wheel is ok. One bad cut, and the circuit is ruined.

on every led strip the cutting areas are marked. Yes, you can use a Dremel to do this.

Hi Sorry for delay in replying. Viessmann 5046 can be cut to any length and is flicker free. Also available in warm white.
