Hi all Last night i made a simple small test track with some K-track, signals 7236 & 7239 & signal solenoid control unit and a K83 decoder. Made an insulated section for the train to stop or go depending on the signal lights. Fed everything via the main track power connection of the ESU Ecos controller. Everything works as it should, by clicking the screen the light changes and the lok starts to move (or stops...) However, the signal lights are flickering a little (they are not lighted solid...) What could be the reason for this? Should i use a different power source for the lights? Originally everything should (in analog set up) be fed via the yellow terminal on a regular transformer. Trying to combine new (-ish) stuff with "vintage" stuff here.... Regards Jean-Pierre

What is signal solenoid control unit? If i think right does Märklins old signal have analog lamps at 16 VAC. It make some small flickering lights when you use digital and an old k83. |

The "signal solenoid control unit" is the part of the signal that switches green to red (or yellow) and switches current to the isolated track section on / off. It is part of the signal and is basically a two-way relay. The K83 is controlling this. The bulbs are 19V The Ecos power supply is set to about 18V I could connect the 6021 (with power supply) to the "sniffer" port of the Ecos to get the yellow terminal of that power supply for the accessories, but not sure if this would be "digitally safe" Regards Jean-Pierre

Hi Jean-Pierre, do you have a small schematic of your setup or video, I have been trying to setup Viessmann signals with Ecos but have not had a lot of success, especially trying to give the signal an address.

Hi Phil I am only a beginner in digital MRR, but love to tinker with the stuff, sorry no schematic or video but i'll try to explain it as clear as I can: I started out with reading this: https://lnx.3rotaie.it/w...als%20Manual%20(Eng).pdfThen gave it my interpretation by connecting the yellow and two blue wires coming from the signal solenoid control unit (AKA relay...) to one of the ports (port #1) of a K83 decoder. K83 hooked up to the power supply Connection 5 & 6 on the relay (signal solenoid control unit) are used to power the isolated track section when the signal light turns green. One wire wire goes to the "O" side of the power supply, the other one to the "O" side of the isolated track In the Ecos i entered the switching accessories tab, linked port #1 of the K83 to the signal and voila... it worked! Not much to it to be honest, still have to play around with it a bit more to figure out why the lights have the flickering effect and want to try the "resistor trick" to keep the decoder functions alive when the train is stopped. I guess the Viessmann signals / decoder should be similar to the Marklin's? What part# does your signal have? Hopes this helps Jean-Pierre
