With all the excitement of the impending release of the SBB Re 10/10, I can't help but wondering..

Is there any common or typical double heading of loks in German (Cargo) services similar to Re 10/10 in Era IV or V that anyone know of?

Marklin released a BR 151 double set a while back, is this a common pair up?

Any help would be appreciated.
Now collecting C-Sine models.

Double heading with BR 140 is quite common.
Double heading with BR 151 is quite common, too; there are ore trains with automatic couplers to bypass the limits of the hook coupler.
Sometimes you also see BR 152 double headings.

There is no common double heading of different locos to match the Re 10/10.

Here are some pictures of the ore cars with automatic couplers:

These 143 are still in DR livery! How old is this picture?

The picture is from www.bahnbilder.de, and it was taken on 21 May 1991.

What stands out about the Re 10/10 is that it is a permanent combination of a Re 4/4II or Re 4/4III with a Re 6/6. The locomotives remain coupled together for all assignments.
In the past, locomotives used in multiple traction on the Gotthard would be assigned to separate duties once they had arrived in Ticino (Bellinzona) or at Chiasso.

I don't know if any of the German or Austrian combinations are operated as permanent units or just as two or more locomotives coupled together for a specific run.

I have seen many consists with 2 BR 218 diesels (ie, Allgau Route).
Multiple 185s can be seen pulling long freight trains. As I stated, I don't know if these form a technical unit (a la Re 10/10) or are simply counted as two separate locomotives.
