One of the new items listed is the diesl-hydraulics that were built for the US Southern Pacific by Krauss- Maffei . These ran trials in Europe, fitted if I remember correctly with European buffers and draw-gear, before being shipped to America. So there is a legitimate reason for running an unusual prototype on your European layout.

I did checked closer about Smart control and this digital system do also have Railcomplus which means it auto register a locomotive with this protocol. Just like MS2 with mfx but Piko do have graphic color display. I am not really sure how many pictoral icon symbols there is but the new Smart control can control up to 69 functions. The new digital system Smart control arrives out June 2023. |
