Marklin 6646: Transformer not working

Joined: 12/08/2021(UTC) Posts: 32 Location: Massillon, OH		I bought a couple of Marklin 6646 110 Volts transformers for running my layouts in analog mode, and have been using them mostly on my M-track test layout. Recently, one of them showed some weird behavior: When turning the speed up, the loco would suddenly stop at an about 150 speed setting. Then it only worked up to a 100, and now the controller does not do anything. However, when turning the controller to the left, the directional relay in the loco is actuated. Is this something that can be fixed (looks like the transformer can not be opened) or do I just need to get a new one?

First try blasting some compressed air under turn knob (potentiometer), as there may just be some dirt.

Joined: 10/02/2021(UTC) Posts: 3,127 Location: Michigan, Troy		Yes, as Ben says, you can try canned air, or plastic safe electrical contact spray cleaner. I used it on my 6021 control for the GO button and it helped.
