I am working on some vintage Marklin HO trains (1947 to late 60's) and need a source for parts. Nothing spectacular but brushes, light bulbs for the steam locomotives, plugs for the wires, the little springs that go underneath the switches for both the old switches that have the electromagnet above the switch body and the newer switches with the double solenoids under the switch body, and possibly some tires. I think the 3 locomotives I am working on now are the CM800 (0-6-0T), TT800 (2-6-2T) and F800 (4-6-2).
Looking for a suggestion for a reputable, and helpful, parts supplier.

Most of these parts you require are available from Marklin, just try your USA Marklin dealer, who can help.

Hi Don For very specific parts on Märklin 800 or 700 series, I would advise Ritter Restaurationen https://ritter-restaurationen.de/Regarding bulbs, most are still available, never were manufacturer by Märklin - the MS4 ubiquituous in 800 series, also available by Märklin under 60000 - the E5.5 also available by Märklin under 60010 - the BA5 type (first used on 3037, 3034 etc also available by Märklin under 600150 More difficult to find are the large bulbs with E5.5 and the white colour (easy to make by oneself using finegrain sand paper. From 1953, all sliders are still available by Märklin with the exception of early articulated sliders (e.g. MS800) The spoon sliders are available by Ritter Restaurationen All brushes are available by Märklin: - 60030 (copper + graphite) for almost all 1950 locos (SFCM and LFCM motors) - 60035 (copper + graphite) for special locos like CCS800, ST800, DL800 - E601460 graphite, square section Note: earlier brushes with a brass threaded nut are not delivered by Märklin. I can often find vintage parts from several US ebay vendors. If you know the part numbers a Google search often turns up some good sources.
If you want to work with a dealer here in the US, I have had great service from Ajckids in Texas. They have never failed to find me the parts that I need if they are still available from Marklin. |
