In this film, the producers took their time to present an interesting portrait of DB 003 220-1, including preparations at BW. The video format is not quite right (stretched vertically), but I enjoyed the love of detail and the undramatic way the film is presented.

The on-board footage suggests (and the presenter mentions) that the ride on this machine was fairly rough …

what an age that must have been! Nice.
Sad to see an old gent filmed 50 years ago and know he can no longer be around.

I just came across this video and really enjoyed it. Apparently there were several problems with the BR 03 which had quite an influence on how it was used throughout it's lifespan. This documentary gives a balanced view of the the strengths and weakness of the Lok design and as Jeroen says the filming is really good. I took my BR 03 off the layout and looked at it with fresh eyes.

I loved the look and feel of this film.
It is a nice example of a situation where instead of scrapping something that wasn't so great in its original role; when repurposed, it excelled.
