ESU’s Switch Pilot(s) and Detector(s) with Märklin CS3?

The thought of possibly buying the Märklin CS3 has crossed my mind. I presently use the ESU ECoS with Switch Pilots and ESUDetectors on my layout and I think they are compatible with the CS3. My question is can I use the existing ESU components with the Märklin CS3 or do I need to buy the Märklin components? Edited by user 16 August 2022 22:26:36(UTC)

My question is can I use the existing ESU components with the Märklin CS3 or do I need to buy the Märklin components? Hi Michel - Definitely the signal pillot and switch pilot or switch pilot servo are indeed compatible. - regarding the ESU EcosDetektor being compatible with the CS3 I doubts it is compatible Here is the manual https://www.esu.eu/en/downloads/...e220d917f4e8299fab12ab33There is no mention of connecting it to the CS3. Which type of CS3?The 60226 (CS3) is cheaper but does not (a) include a module for information collection (Link88) and (b) cannot be anything but a master The 60216 (CS3+) can receive directly the S88 data collection modules 60881 (3 rails) or 60882 (2 rails current sensing) IMO for medium to large layout it is better to start with a combination of a 60226 + 60883 (Link88)+ 60360 (or the one suited to your country) This allows to have 3 different sensor busses instead of one for the same price. The CS3 is an excellent unit and very much a good choice if your other devices are Märklin (you may program sounds, locos, mapping functions) in a very user-friendly way. Just my opinion Jean Edited by user 17 August 2022 11:49:09(UTC)
