I live in new Zealand and are using Marklin to create my layout. BUT: Are also Wanting to create a New Zealand based layout (Narrow Gauge)(4.5 inch). I are going to use Marklin HO track for this narrow gauge layout. I have been trying to work out the Scale but have got myself hopelessly tangled. Can not go further until I sort this out. Any one able to help an old doddery codger out. I used to be able to do this for myself but this time it coming out with Stupid figures that can not be right. |

So the prototype gauge is 1067 mm, the model gauge is 16.5 mm. That makes it 1:64.666666666666666. S scale is 1:64. Maybe you can find some pre-build items in S scale. |

Thank you for that I wondered if some one else had had this idea before me now I know I'm not the only genius in the world, I am only treading the paths that others had created before me. |

Hello Rabbity, I don't understand your question. What is 4.5 inch? Yes, for the main lines of NZ (as others have answered) you will be scaling at 1:64. This is widely used by modellers here in Queensland where the mainline gauge is 1067mm. Kimball |
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge. |
