I have Marklin Electric points from late 30s to 40s. They have two cables from the solenoids which I have tried connecting in the same way as the latter 5100 series points to 7072 control panel but this does not work.

Some also have lit direction indicators with seperate wiring ground and light circuit no problem

Garteful for advice as to how to connect the solenoids

Regards

David

I don't have direct experience with these, but I think you will find it is a single solenoid, and each voltage pulse will change the state of the points, rather like the way the H0 loco reversing mechanisms work.

Thanks Alan, I've now solved it. You are correct! Originally Ihad a loose contact when I tried it with a 7072. I then discovered I have an old 474/4 control panel which has a simple push button, and obviously was designed for those old points and all work despite their age. The 7072 control panel also works. We should meetb up sometime, I'm not far in Burbage by Marlbourgh. 07989 748147. ive quite and eclectic collection all gauges all ages!! At moment am working on a simple display of my analogue 1930s to 60s Markln for the Alresford Model Railway show in Alresford on 18 June.
