Any one know a source for replacement sprung buffers for the Teak SJ D109?

I came across a set where two buffers were damaged - I bought at it at a good price, so no sweat. The cars were perfect, the engine had never been run so was seized because of the very fine lubricant Maerklin used to use twenty years ago (sarcasm). Nothing like a little WD40 and taking apart the engine can't fix.

Maerklin no longer stocks or lists parts for this set. The other D109s have solid metal buffers not the very cool (but delicate) sprung type.

7 gauges, Maerklin doesn't stock these spare parts anymore. I am shocked (sarcasm)!!! As one who is always trying to keep my vintage Maerklin running, why not try some of the Swedish hobby shops, in the links section of this site, like Leni's Lek & Hobby? You could use "Google Tranlate" to go from English to Swedish and send them an email? My two cents...

Thanks - never thought of that - actually to boost my GPA back in University I took a bunch of courses called "ancient germanic languages" - Swedish included, but for some reason I was weak in Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian - but had no problem with the "Icelandic" dialect - go figure! Key is to sound out the phonetics and you get close to the "Plattdeutsch" equivalents. Sometimes there is a plus side to being from north of the old Roman border.

On another note - I did fix one buffer - the other one is sevrely messed up, however. I'm guessing someone has brass reproductions available.
