Just got it yesterday. It's a great model. Installing it on the CS3 was easy in DCC protocol. All 24 functions work. The sound quality is good, no better than Marklin though. Minor white noise noticable on the station announcement function when the Loco is close by your ears. This may not be the decoder, but the actual recording.
The volume is good without adjusting the CV configuration. The 6 different horn tones are plenty loud, and can be customized to stay om, momentary, or time durations. The wheel squeal on curves is also. Sound is mutable, and a coasting or running empty sound function also.
The lights are brighter than on basic Marklin sound Locos. Switching manuever lights on and slow speed running on one button. Parking, and directional front/rear on/off sequence included.
It runs excellent and smooth. The running sounds are well synced with speed increase. The default 28 step speed range gives very gradual increases. These can be adjusted in the CV menu.
It pulled a heavy long train with no strain, or motor heat for several minutes. 3 axles powered on the A/C version with 4 traction tires. 4 powered on the DC versions.
Detailing and paint work is excellent. The windscreen wipers have to be mounted by you. Brake hoses, M/U conncector details for static displaying, and both Roco hoop and nem close couplers included.
