Robert Frowenfeld just sent this message:

Quote:
A few minutes ago I received this e-mail from Marklin:

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Brenda Hensleigh. She was a dear friend to all of us at Märklin and loved by so many. She will truly be missed. If you would like to send your condolences to her family, please find her address below.

Dennis and Brenda Hensleigh
3270 S. Regal Dr
New Berlin, WI 53151

I knew Brenda for over 30 years -- from when she first started with Marklin, somewhere back in the 1980's. Brenda was always eager to help and a pleasure to work with. I can't begin to figure out how many times my customers would call or e-mail me to say something like "I spoke with Brenda and she took care of everything for me" or "Brenda helped me with ...". I enjoyed working with her tremendously while she was with Marklin and, even after she retired, we kept in touch. I know that I, as well as all the folks in the Marklin community who had the pleasure to know her, even just via phone or e-mail, will miss her greatly.

Regards,

Robert

I am really saddened to learn about Miss Brenda's passing.
She was always very kind to me, and many a time went the extra mile to assist.
My condolences to her family.
Best regards,
Armando García

Agreed. I talked to her 2 or 3 times many years ago. She was ALWAYS very helpful and courteous to me.
Ditto: condolences to her family.

A huge shock. I first "met" Brenda on a long-distance call from overseas while renewing my Maerklin Club membership: every year, when it was time to renew, I'd always greet her by saying "Hi Brenda... looks like it's that time once again!" and she would reply with a friendly, "Yes it is, Steven... how have you been?" We'd spend the next few minutes catching up on the latest and greatest, including the weather in our respective parts of the world. Seems like only yesterday she was saying how much she was looking forward to retirement and relaxing. Rest in Peace, Brenda... you will be missed.

Extremely sad to hear of Brenda's passing.

My experiences with Brenda mirrors other folks experiences - she was a lovely person. She first helped me out when I was trying to get my credit card details to Marklin for Insider Club membership at a time when Marklin didn't have credit card facilities on their website. Although the Marklin USA site is for US based members, Brenda allowed me to sign up through Marklin USA and she then passed my details on to Marklin Germany.

Our Club had a reciprocal arrangement with Marklin USA where we would send them our Club magazine 'The 3rd Railer' and Marklin USA would send us Dr Tom's Digital Newsletter at a time when the Digital Newsletter was a paid for item. Brenda often told me she enjoyed reading our magazine and to find out the goings on in the Marklin NZ community. When Brenda retired I offered to keep her on the mailing list, something she very much appreciated. It was around that time that we became Facebook friends.

My condolences to Brenda's family, she will be missed.

Agreed, I've only been an "Insider" for a few years but I liked Barbara Brenda and always enjoyed speaking with her. Sad news.

Edited by moderator 18 January 2022 11:11:54(UTC)  | Reason: Corrected Brenda's name.

So sad to hear of Brenda's passing. She was so pleasant when it was time to renew my membership. She always was there to help and answer my questions. May God Bless Her.
