Hello fellow Märklin enthusiasts,

It seems that Marklin has quite a variety of different road names for the Class 66 Diesel and I was wondering if someone can tell me their option on the one that they bought. Pictures gladly welcomed. I personally have never seen it in real life and was wondering if they are the new type of Diesel engines running on European railways today.

I have viewed the video “Unboxing Marklin 39063 Class 66 CargoNet 66 404” from Model Train Fun on YouTube Cool

Hi, 66 diesels started in the U.K. after being built in North America and have rapidly spread to Europe. There called Sheds by train spotters in England. Here’s a couple running through Harlestone, one of which is taking a train to the channel tunnel!!

Thanks Dan, filmed by me 😆

I notice that Hornby do the Class 66 and associated freight cars and they are advertised as OO scale/gauge (1:76 running on HO track).
It would be interesting to see their models side by side with Märklin.

HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.

Hi, there at the cheap end of 00 scale 1/76 and not 1/87. Also no AC? But the Hornby models are not bad considering there less than £100 sterling!!!
Here’s to more videos 😆

I have enough EMD diesels, and the only reason I's want one of these is for the sounds, smoke, and control desk lighting.

I'm quite happy with my CD 66 (39063). decent sound project and a nice model.
In Norway, Cargo Net has replaced them with the CD 312(Euro4000).
One thing to observe is that in Norway they used to have end 1 in front of the train. So they were turned at turntables whenever possible.

I've got the Swedish model. 39068.

I think it's an amazing model! I think there are a few details that aren't totally correct. Maybe it's the plows. I really like it and was happy there was a swedish model.
