Dear All
I have a couple of old Marklin M track 5117 points that I want to digitise by a Marklin k83 decoder and incorporate them into my digital layout running with Win digipet. I want to replace the bulb in the lantern on each point with an Led bulb as they draw to much current. Does anyone know where I can get the Led bulbs or create a diy solution with some other type of Led bulbs from ebay etc.
Many thanks
Andy

There was a fellow selling them on eBay a couple of years ago.. I still have some, but I can't seem to find them on eBay any more.. You could make them but you would need to be soldering a tiny LED to a sMD resistor small enough to stuff inside the bulb base... too hard for me to do.. I don't use the Marklin K83, I use the Viessmann 5211 (I think is the correct number), which allows the use of an external feed.. Have a read of this article from AJC Kids -> https://ajckids.com/blog...211-turnout-decoder-k-83 . Also I connect the turnouts, signals and K84 modules to their own booster so that the track current is not wasted on accessories.. |

The leds works fine. i use them in old signals. In turnouts i have separate the feeding of the bulb from the feeding of the solenoid. This way i can lit them up or off and power trough a separate transformer so power consumption if of no interest. Regards |
German trains era I-II and selected III, era depends on the mood, mostly Maerklin but i can be heretic if needed XD, heresy is no longer an issue.. LOL |
