I have acquired a Marklin 6611 transformer, but am not sure how to use in in my layout. I was hoping to use it to supply power to my Marklin colour light signals, but am not sure how to wire it in. Does it need to be linked to the train controller (in my case, Marklin 37540)?

Would be grateful for any advice on how to use this.

I posted this diagram in another recent thread on the forum.

Aansluitschema_analoge_lichttransformator.png

In your case your 37450 transformer would connect where it says from Ecos track output. Your 6611 transformer would be the big blue transformer in the diagram .Every thing else is the same.

Never ever ever ever ever connect the yellow output of one transformer to the yellow output of another transformer as this is extremely dangerous as when you plug one of the transformers into the mains power you will get mains voltage on the power plug of the second transformer.
