Hello Märklineers,

May I please ask of all you wise and learned folk a question:

Can anyone kindly advise me when the German Railways started to
install red lights at the rear end of their locomotives and/or tenders.

Regards,

PJ

German Wikipedia says that powered railcars have integrated red lights since the 1920s.
I didn't find information about locomotives.
Regards
Tom

I am pretty sure for steam locomotives they would just place a red glass lense over the lamp when required (ie. push/pull operation).
modelling era IIIa (1951-1955) Germany
