Ed has an ho scale layout in his garage. The locomotive is clearly German and black. A br 50, 51, or 52 perhaps. A quick shot of the controller looks like an Intellibox. He tells his wife Dawn that the new 420 has optional sound. Anyone else watched it? I wouldn't say it's a great layout, A well sceniced oval. A good well written thriller though. If you like crime thrillers watch all 6.

BR50 type locos all have 5 tractoned axles.
The one in the movie is clearly a BR01 or BR03. (3 tractioned axles). The track is clearly Märklin. A very surprising choice for a US TV production¿?
Actually it looks mostly like a 01 to me. The string of coaches looks like 4-axled umbauwagens, for which the 03 might be more adequate.
The talking about the "420" doesn't seem coherent to what we see on the layout, as the guy proceeds to refer to the steamer as said "420".
The wife is "thrilled" to hear about the sound-options. I recognize that facial expression from my own wife...

Film props seem to have gone upscale in the last decade. A Medical device company has a department dedicated to build ups for films and tv shows.
Reynaulds in Illinois is building a giant Marklin layout for a southern California client.
