Cross Reference for Faller Kits Marketed by Atlas Tool Co. in the USA

Joined: 26/07/2011(UTC) Posts: 73 Location: Portland, Oregon		I am wondering if anyone has created a cross reference for the Faller kits marketed by Atlas Tool Co. in the USA in the 1960s. I believe that there was at least 6 kits from the Faller line marketed by Atlas. Also, I am wondering why Atlas would have sold the B-238 Saw Mill under two different numbers; i.e., 757-400 and 757-298. Perhaps there was an alteration in the model at some point? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Joined: 28/11/2007(UTC) Posts: 7,890 Location: Montreal, QC		I am wondering whether the saw mill and the mill with water wheel were at one point marketed as a kit that required a separate motor and were at another point marketed as a complete kit including the motor. I remember the saw mill had moving blades and the water wheel had a little pump which cycled water back up to the top so that it could drive the wheel again and again. Regards Mike C

Joined: 26/07/2011(UTC) Posts: 73 Location: Portland, Oregon		Mike, yes, I believe that these kits were marketed with and without the pump and motors. The saw mill can accommodate two motors. Although, the instructions for Atlas version only indicates one and the Faller version two.

Joined: 10/02/2021(UTC) Posts: 3,119 Location: Michigan, Troy		Often there are/were two versions of the Faller branded kits also. One has a motor, one doesn't include one. Stuttgart fernsheturm is one. Another is an octagon shaped car dealership with turntables. One, a 1990 Club model of a BMW dealership included a motor, a Herpa 850, and a white 7er. The black 850 has Faller 1990 on the top of the windshield. Also a seperate house/office. It was my first Faller kit. One which did not include a motor, or vehicles is my Mercedes dealership circa 1992. My Hexenloche mill came motorized.
