linde tank car.jpg

I have come across a HO scale Linde tank car but can find no reference to it anywhere, even Mr and Mrs Google haven’t been able to help.

I also have some other examples of the Linde 44510 tank car which only has a narrow blue stripe along the side whereas this tank car has a wide blue stripe on it. Underneath it says Marklin and made in Western Germany. It is in Blue Box and someone has marked it 90710, I suspect this item number is wrong as it does not show up in a Google search.

Was this tank car from a start set or was it produced as an individual item and also what year(s) was it issued.

Thanks in advance for any advice you are able provide.

Cheers Brett

There is such a wagon in the "Koll Spezial" catalogue, number is 4440/90710, produced around 1990 in a series of about 500 units by Märklin.

...yes, I know, dragging goodies up from the past...and weird question:

However, did this version also have "Bf Salzgitter" as the location as does the 44510, or was this one for a specific place, given its 500 quantity release? Confused

I can not actually tell from the picture Blushing ... Just curious. ThanksCool

While this may not be Precisely the same paint job as the .90710 model, it is based in "Bf Höllriegelskreuth" and the car number is oh so close! Just a fun bit of info...

Nice one. I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure there is one of these Linde tank cars in the Primex range as well.
