What is people's experience with Brawa's type of telex coupler? There is a thread about the telex coupler used by Märklin and other makers that works best with close couplers and not well with other (older) types of couplers but Brawa uses a different kind of telex coupler that seems to work well with "standard" couplers. I almost bought a Brawa V36 with digital coupling (not the V36 but a Danish version of it, Brawa 41623) but when it was demonstrated in the shop the coupler in one end didn't work. I've also seen a youtube video of the V36 with similar problems. That's why I'm interested in some feed back... if there is any?

I found a youtube video that may interest you in case you already hadn't seen them. |
Best regards, Miguel

Yeah, it seems to work like a charm in the videos.

Copenhagen, did you ever get a Brawa loco with a telex coupler? I am looking at the Brawa V 60 and V 100 models which both have the telex coupler and was wondering if you had any good experiences you could share...

Oh, it's an old thread of mine :-) Well a year or two ago I went to one of my model trains shops to look at it with the purpose of buying it. I got it demonstrated but it turned out that the coupler in one end of the locomotive didn't work, so I didn't buy it of course. A possible weakness of the Brawa coupler is also that there is only the upright pin to keep the cars attached and nothing else. I have since bought two Märklin locos with their newly invented telex coupler, BR 80 37068 and V60 37654. They work like a charm.
