I have been looking all over, may be in the wrong places, but it seems that no one makes digital or even analog working cranes but for the one on cars.

Any help finding some would be appreciated, something like the Marklin 76500 or the Rocco 41290. The joystick operation of that last one looks awesome.

Hi
Märklin or Roco release cranes only periodically
Here is ebay Germany plenty of them https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_...igital+kran&_sacat=0

Roco provides also cranes on occasion and many can be found on ebay roco digital kran
So plenty of choice I think

Being in Canada the German eBay does not turn up very often in my search thanks a lot for that. I tend to shy away from used equipments but I might get lucky.

Roco has one now. If you want a Marklin Goliath, check Trainz. Com. Also Helmets in eastern Pa. Has a lot of n.o.s. items.

I was suspecting that being in Canada, it will be harder for you.
Please note that many in the German ebay sell their goods worldwide and also many sell "as new" items from collections.

The new Roco crane is great. Here is a video of it

I have a collection of older cranes. Here they are in operation (sorry for the poor quality of this 10 years old video)

So plenty to enjoy
Cheers

Yes I have seen the Roco and the Marklin on cars crane but as mentioned I am looking for cranes that are not on cars. More the docking or container type.

Thanks for your help, I am looking patiently to find the gem now that you have guided me to the right place.

Thanks but as mentioned I do not want a crane on a car. More the docking or coal station type or container type even.

I have look at trainz.com but no dice so far.

Can you give me a more precise link to Helmets?

To give a boost to your German is good (I try also). On the other hand many German dealers read / write English.
Cheers

Well thank again for the good advices. In my wondering around I hit upon modellbauland.ch who to my amazement had a brand new, or so it seems, Roco 41290 fully loaded kit with the joystick and magnet.
I have my finger crossed that I did well.
I will have some useless tracks but I could not resist to get it.

You can use a 7051 crane and digitise it, especially if you don't have the 7652 digital control board. Here's how...

As much as I like my first issue goliath crane, it uses more track to model. The Roco less.

Mike I fully agree there, my Goliath (first edition) remains in the box most of the time as it is so huge.
I don't have the Roco one but it certainly is splendid Drool

Go for it John! The Roco is less expensive than the early Goliath. Is yours yellow or red? My Goliath is enough for me.

No the Goliath is an earlier model of a modern crane, first announced by Marklin in 2001.

Oops, sorry David, my middle name is also John, after my dad. I'm usually good remembering names, and I do check our profiles periodically. I confused you with Mr. River6-------? He is John, but in Australia, and it's easier for me to confuse members from both up here in the northern hemisphere. We say we are across the pond from Europe, and you say across the ditch from them.

For those who have or who are thinking of getting an early version Marklin Goliath (49950) which doesn't have sound there is a company in Germany who sells sound decoders for these cranes and can fit them for you if required.

Neat shop to know.

Sometimes I wished I lived in Germany but then again I would spend even more on the hobby. Blink

Are you still looking for a 76500? One has appeared on ebay.co.uk.

I have no idea how good the seller is.

Thanks I appreciate this. I got a Roco 41290 as mentioned earlier in the thread and although this would be a perfect add on, for now, I will pass if I want to maintain sanity in my marriage.
For some unknown reason a crane was harder to pass through the door then a locomotive Confused

Walthers make a traveling dock crane kit for $56. It is for manual operation, but could be modified for motorized use. I believe Kibri also has one.

Another possibility is to purchase this brand new Märklin 76510 Grossbekohlungsanlage 5large coaling station here https://www.ebay.de/itm/29416911...875c2:g:604AAOSw5HZgmQxn
or this crane with bridge https://www.ebay.de/itm/29416910...8611a:g:YPEAAOSw3hZgmQcW
They are expensive but collector items
I purchased my 76510 in 2005
76510 Box.png (1,014kb) downloaded 26 time(s).
There is a base plate hidden underneath
