The model on top is the LS Models version, which is due for release in the coming months.
The model on the bottom is the Piko version, which is available in Switzerland now.

Look identical to me. LS models usually cost more than Piko.

Would depend on price. PIko might be the better buy. Rails are a good point to allow passengers to get in and out safely and appear to be missing on the PIko but they might be included for the buyer to attach.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

The window frames on the Piko model appear to be too rectangular in my opinion (the corners should be more rounded, although not as prominently as on Märklin's light steel coaches and especially their baggage car).

The restaurant coaches underwent a number of revisions during their lifespan. I think that LSM has accurately rendered most of these.
I think that Piko has used the same mold for the "Self-Service", "Chäs-Express" and now the "Calanda Land" models.

At some point, the external handrails were removed from the EWI and EWII. It is possible that one model represents a later variant of the same coach.

The first thing that I noticed was that the Piko model has what appears to be gold coloured window frames, while the LSM looks more like what I remember the real coach looking like.
