I'm looking at a used Marklin 37724 Digital Diesel Locomotive CL V100.20 of the DB.

Prototype: German Federal Railroad (DB) class V 100.20.
Model: The locomotive comes with an mfx decoder with controlled high-efficiency propulsion. The locomotive has a metal frame. 2 axles powered. 4 traction tires. Metal grab irons. Scale narrow hoods. The headlights will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The acceleration and braking delay can be controlled digitally with a 6021 Control Unit. Length over the buffers 14.1 cm / 5-9/16".

As I have said a number of times, still very much a novice. Would this loco work okay with my MS2? How difficult is it to add sound to the loco? I'm fairly mechanically inclined. Could I tackle the addition of sound? What would I look for to add sound?

Sitting on fence...should I purchase or not?

As always thanks for the help.ThumpUp

Yes.
Note that early #37724 came with fx, not mfx. When buying a used one, make sure it comes with mfx if that is important to you.

Not much space for the speaker. The motor is usually a bit noisy. I would not add sound to that sort of loco.

Tom
