Aside from the 3026 loco and 5117 switch instruction manuals, does anyone know what other literature came with the 3126 starter set from the late 50's. Any info or pictures would be most appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

So that we are all on the same page here's a picture from the 1958 catalog of the 3126 set that the original poster is talking about, since I don't have a hard coded database of all each and every item number Marklin ever produced inside my head.

Judging what came with my 3148 set, which was the 1960's successor to the 3126 set there's the 3048 loco manual, a 5117 manual, a 'Connecting Electric Railways' manual (copy attached) and a sheet with the trackplan for the track contents in the set.

Connecting_Electric_Railways.pdf (3,092kb) downloaded 369 time(s).

Steve, when you look in his Avatar you will notice his name is Paul but at the same time it would be nice if he would add his name at the bottom of his posts,
it doesn't happen very often that Märklin uses a catalogue number twice: 3126 = SBB Red Arrow, I wonder whether Märklin missed this starter set from an earlier production or they had no other option

Here are pictures of my 3126 starter set
Note: the crossing was not included in the set

Alas I have no "paperwork" with the set but there was (I think)
* a small leaflet on the 3026 loco
* an instruction leaflet on layouts like the 0320 (I cannot attach it because of size but can send it to you by email)

My set is a transition one (around 1960) where the loco, instead of being a 3026 is a 3048 (same loco but with a light conduit and smoke unit)

Cheers
Jean

Hi

Here is the 0321 leaflet (1961) which is smaller in size and fits the forum
Cat Marklin Gleiplane 0321 (1961).pdf (14,628kb) downloaded 24 time(s).

That was the first thing I checked, the real name field was blank or I'd have used it.

I had the answers sought from my own starter set research but I just don't like addressing someone by a code.

Friendly nicknames of course are quite different.

Thanks John,
