Hello friends,

With your help, for the first time, I've gotten into maintaining and fixing up my old locomotives. So far, it has only been cleaning and lubricating. But I have found that I may need some basic spare parts such as tyres, brushes, sliders and light bulbs.

I tried looking on the Marklin.com website, but it directs me to the German website for spare parts. I'm hoping to buy in the US since postage for these tiny items should be inexpensive.

Any suggestions on where/who to go to? I'm in LA, but assume that I'd buy it online and have it sent by post.

Thanks,
Randy

I don't know how much of a parts inventory is maintained by Walthers for Maerklin. There are a number of dealers you can ask about basic spare parts, including:

1) Reynaulds, Chicago IL
2) Helmut's Hobbies, VA
3) Eurorailhobbies, Summerland BC Canada
4) Eckert Engineering

You can also try reputable dealers in Europe:
5) Schweickhardt
6) Kramm
7) Lokshop
8) Lippe

For older models (rare parts) you can try Amiba in Switzerland or Ritter Restaurationen in Germany

You can also try to contact Guy at AJCKids in Wichita Falls, TX. Not sure if he has older spare parts in stock but he has some current ones. Always worth a try.

Randy, You might also look into joining the European Train Enthusiasts. There are several chapters in California. The website is ETE.org and you will find that many of the members are Marklin enthusiasts as well and can be very helpful.

Roger

Another old school shop is Ormandys in Medina Ohio. That is if they are still open, it's been years since I was in there, but he had a pretty good stash of vintage stuff and parts. He is also fluent in German and a wealth of older Marklin info in the states. Mike
