Dear all, As a father of two, my own experience with H0 rails dates back 30 yrs, but now I can't keep my hands off any longer. My daughter and I spent the last days designing a L-layout fitting a relatively small corner in her room. The curve radii seem to be rather small, and I wonder if this will work at all. There are three levels, at 0, 4 and 8 cm, and maybe the elevation is too ambitious as well? We would appreciate any expert comments on our layout sketch, which can be inspected in PDF form http://user.math.uzh.ch/hothorn/docs/H0_layout.pdfand in XtrkCAD source form http://user.math.uzh.ch/hothorn/docs/H0_layout.xtcMany thanks, Torsten

Hi Torsten,
I'm struggling to understand which bits of your plan are at which heights?
Cheers

Yes I think you have just enough track to make the gradients, I usually plan on 12 to 15 pieces of R1 curve or 180mm straight for a ramp before crossing over/under another track.
So if I understand correctly then the middle right of your plan is where everything crosses over so one of those is 0 and the track going over is +8cm and then everything else is ramping between those two points, which would make the top left sticky out bit of the L about +4cm. |

OK, thanks! Yes, exactly. It would have been easier with a bit more space in x-direction (only 90cm width) but I'm glad it seems doable. Will be off to the local dealer, then ;-) Thanks a lot! Torsten
