I have three Marlin Maxi 1 gauge Engines with the small Delta AC circuit card on the bottom of the engine. I bought a used MAXI Engine (0-4-0) #01011624 from a Set 54413. The Engine reads on the side: MEB 98-7505. I have no instructions. The Circuit Card is completely different from the other Engines I have. It has a special connector on the Card and no DIP Switches. This engine does have a sound card in the top of the cab. I have digital pictures of the engine and both sides of the circuit card that I can email someone that can help. The engine will only run one speed on my Delta AC track and d will not reverse. Questions: 1. Can this be used with my MAXI Delta Set? 2. Will this engine only work with a DC Transformer? Hi!
The product database shows the Delta symbol for the set 54413. I'd expect DIP switches. |

One for AC, the other for DC operation. Guess your latest addition has the DC card inserted (by her former owner) ... Solution A: Try running her with an DC transformer (if you got one). Solution B: Or install an AC card (from your other locos) and give her a try with your AC transformer. Good luck, and welcome to the bunch John |

John, you are ( almost :-) ) right, a lot of Maxi locs came with two circuit boards.
If the card only has two diodes on it, it is the DC card.

Thanks to all who replied. After reading several answers and working on my MAXI Engine with Sound, I found and set the DIP Switches for Delta, found the small switch on the inside top of the cab for the sound, and found the smoke on off switch in the cab.
I think everything works now.
