Hello everyone !
What do you expect as a novelty for 2020?
_A new christmas wagon a same as every years.
_I saw the christmas locomotive is not products recently, also a new Christmas locomotive can include in this news. https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/39006
_I also saw that Viessmann announced a ballast stuffer in 2020, but only the 2 rail version, so marklin will surely replicate the 3 rail version․ https://viessmann-modell...r-zweileitersysteme?c=11

I think the new fall items is revealed in the end of august or the begin of september.

And you, what is your opinion ?

I think the Fall NI will be particularly thin this year. It is normally published in time for the Marklin Open Days/IMA around the 15th September with items for Christmas.

So I expect the following: -
Christmas wagons for HO & Z
Some items pushed from the Summer NI.
Some items being produced for Marklin, which have already been announced for Trix. Some of these could be several years old in the Trix line - it is always worth getting both the Trix and Marklin NI brochures and seeing what is in one and not the other. Doing this will reduce the workload on the product development team at a time when they have had a significant amount of downtime.

So i wouldn't expect a large amount of really new stuff.

As to the Viessmann ballast tamper machine, the three rail version of that looks to me like a NI for Viessmann in 2021. The various other versions of these machines have not migrated to Marklin for the three rail versions, so I wouldn't hold my breath for this one from Marklin.

I cannot see myself needing another loco.

I got the Insider BR78.10 39781 and it has not even come out of the box because I am running other stuff.
But then I might be tempted if Märklin release an E17 coloured and lettered for the period 1938-49.
All the E17s produced thus far have been 1959 or later.

The release of the BR38 in new tooling 39380 (now available) makes me wonder if Märklin should do another iteration of the Rheingold Express train set.
I own the 26928 set and I am very impressed with the sounds, the current-conduction, and the quality.
It has 4 cars + baggage + BR18.5.

UserPostedImage

A slightly shorter version (3 + baggage + BR38) with new coach numbers might be quite prototypical, because the train varied in length depending on the season.
Also a longer train with two baggage can be assembled if you own the 26928.
See the photos below showing the BR38 on the Rheingold, taken from the 1935 publication Railway Wonders of the World.

It is interesting that the coach colouring is described by an Englishman as violet and cream.
The photo caption reads across the top line on each, then the second line.

If we ever get some new items this autumn from Märklin, I could bet on the Re 465 of the BLS in the new Lime paint sheme, as seen on this link:
https://railcolornews.com/2020/08/18/ch-in-the-picture-a-pair-of-bls-re-465s-in-lime/

and if it doesn't come in 2020, it will come in 2021. Hag just announced the modell, so Märklin and Roco will follow.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer.
You have a lot of ideas for new fall items.
I have a suggestion for new fall items, but I think this new can revealed in new 2021.
This new items is the TGV. There is a lot of candidates but the TGV with most chance to be product are:
_A new TGV POS with the new livery of 2020, the Inoui livery https://www.cheminots.ne...s-sujet-officiel/page/7/
_A new TGV PBKA with the new Ruby livery. This livery is announce for spring 2020, but today any TGV PBKA have this livery.

_A TGV "euroduplex" 4701-4730 with Inoui or Lyria livery.

I could not find the brochure on the Bahnorama site this morning, so here it is from a US source: http://www.rjftrains.com...l_20/DE_mae_henh2020.pdf

I am considering the 2003/2004 DBAG Intercity Set. I think that I could use this to reproduce either one of the last DBAG EC trains to run into Switzerland.
The trains to Chiasso, Brig and Chur were all discontinued around that time. The train to Chur was replaced by an ICE. The Eurocity trains to Brig and Chiasso were replaced with connections that involved a train change in Basel SBB and using the SBB national network to get to the destination.

I remember seeing a few photos of trains with pilot coach in Switzerland, but the pilot coaches were not compatible with either Re 460 or Re 4/4II, so the pilot coach was used as a normal coach.

I will most likely order 2 of the AAE/Coop set. This will either run with a SBB Cargo Lok or perhaps with the RailCare Vectron if anybody at Maerklin is listening.

Regards

Mike C

MEH! For the first time ever, there is really nothing that appeals to me or even closely fits my ERA (late III/early IV) or main (but not exclusive) focus on Switzerland. Even the X-mas car is just too derivative. I'm sure it's COVID-constraints ... and the budget is very thankful as I still have many previous items still on order and waiting for delivery & payment!

I would think that the AAE/Coop Containers would be the perfect match for either a Re 4/4II, Re 6/6 or Re 460 operating for SBB Cargo during the period 2002-2005.

Coop acquired RailCare in 2010. Prior to that, Coop shipments were handled by SBB Cargo and prior to that, by SBB.

I guess that you could also use the same cars for the earliest days when RailCare was operating the four Traxx leasers. By the time they swapped loks with the BLS (3 Re 465 plus one Re 4/4), they had already switched to newer container designs and livery.

Looks like they're offering a re-issued '02 Museumswagen albeit weathered (45176). I may order one just to keep my Museumswagen in mint condition LOL!

Some other interesting items, but overall, I'll need to take a closer look at my current inventory (and see if I've got room for more). At the very least, it's nice to know they're still producing items given the current situation affecting everyone worldwide.

Hello,
I am not sure this relates, but here is a photo with Coop advertising on a lok I saw in Zurich main station December 2018.

On another note, has anyone found a link to the Trix Neuheiten Herbst 2020 PDF?
There is a Trix container set 24139 which appeals to me, shown alongside the Märklin 47580 set.

It is on the bahnorama link above, but they have moved the spot where the links are.

But all the Marklin, Trix and LGB brochures are now up on the appropriate sites. Just the EN Minitrix brochure is linked to the DE one, but by changing the DE to EN in the link you do get the English brochure.

They did that with a wagon in the NI at the beginning of the year. I suspect they may have a surplus of some museum wagons in a warehouse somewhere ... BigGrin Blink Crying

Hi

Here is a link to the Marklin announcement of upcoming releases. Page 35 starts the z scale items.

Not certain if I would be interested in a Br 85 in bronze would you? I like the Br38.

I like the Holsten beer cars set and the Swiss Co-op containers but I'm not sure about an eight car red stripe 50 years of InterCity rake with lighting installed.

Hello,
Märklin and Trix brands have added quite interesting items for me.

Firstly the era VI container traffic on layouts can be be expanded with the addition of newly tooled versions (underframe and deeper sole bar) of the 2-axle Lgs car.
Trix item 24139 (2 cars) and Märklin item 47580 (3 cars).

A newly tooled IC car (red/grey) is the Bvmz which has a more noticeable skirting arrangement than the other IC cars and different bogies.
Trix item 23080 and Märklin item 43680.

A nice set of 6 self-discharge wagons in colours for the Czech railway system is offered under Trix item 24169 but does not feature in the Märklin new items list.

However the prices on the items do seem to have increased, so I have to be a bit careful about what I order.
I am happy for Märklin to stay alive.

On another note, I have been very critical in the past of Märklin about the lack of care in their catalogue photo presentations.
I have to say that in this Autumn New Items catalogues they have done a lovely job on the photos.
I pick out the splendid two of the cranes in use handling placement of a bridge structure.
And also the Intercity IC train passing though a flower strewn field in typical countryside (different images for Trix and Märklin).
Thank you Märklin for improving.

New Autumn items: digital crane for almost a Euro 1000.00, from a practical point how many times would you use it ? if I spend this sort of money I rather have a loco or 2 instead.

I sometimes wonder buying a freight car (47145 = Euro 189.00 for 3)) with a specific load on it (new Autumn items) is it worth it ? being a handyman I usually got metal rods lying around which I use and save myself 100's of dollars and the same goes with timber wagons but suppose there are train enthusiasts who are not close to trees to cut off a few branches when pruning a tree, I've got spare axles without rubber tyres which I use on flat cars., have plenty of 3 pole armatures which I pack into a cage.,
Instead of buying new Autumn items I've already saved myself Euro 2000.00

Once again we have two topics for the same thing, possibly not helped by the other topic having a French title - but it is still easy enough to discern what it is about, there are enough English words derived from the French language after all.

So could the two topics be merged? we don't need a replication, we need people to read what is already posted before excitedly starting a new topic.

I've had a look through the Marklin and Trix brochures, and for a change I can find nothing that catches my eye sufficiently to warrant a purchase.

The Marklin Holsten beer cars are interesting and I like sets that include road vehicles, and in the Trix range the Czech dump car set looks attractive. I'll look at these again more critically in a few days.

I have been taking a closer look at the new items.
The 45086 era II Gas-Kesselwagen has caught my attention but I have some questions which a member may be able to answer.
This appears to be the model offered in the 2004 Museum set 48004.
With acknowledgement for the Image belonging to https://www.michelstaedtermodellbahntreff.de/
45086

1. Why is there no ladder/stairs to access the Bremserhaus (brakehouse)?
2. What is the meaning of the German "Sauerbrunn"?
3. What is the script in blue, presumably "Hohenßtaußenperler"?

Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help explain the missing ladder but kohlensauer means carbon dioxide so carbonated mineral water, seltzer, fizz or pop and spring or fountain would do for sauerbrunn. Hohenstaufen is the area around Goppingen and perle I would take to mean pearl so the pearl of the area.

Hi guys Cool

I ordered the OBB Taurus. I love this loco .Love

I have the rail jet train from Roco. I will be able to compare the 2 locos.

I can't talk about the Roco: it has hardly run at all because of our move to the Richelieu valley.

To see you later

Hi All

I like the look of the coop refrigerated container wagons, I see these regularly being pulled by a private Vectron. Why were they not in the
2020 annual Catalogue ? I am still waiting for delivery of the Rolling Road set. So will we get the Coop wagons this year or next ?

Marklin seem to promise more than they can deliver ! Confused

Tim
