Hello everyone!

I am looking to buy from a friend a 37171 locomotive.
But for kids purposes, I want to buy only digital locomotives with sounds, and setams sounds are amazing!

So, I really don´t know if it comes originally from factory with sound, or If just some models are equiped with
, like a optional item.

Anybody here has this information, please?

Thank you guys!

Hello Joao, this locomotive is a condenser loco & this model does not come with any sound functions. However some like me have fitted ESU sound to the loco but you might find it a little disappointing sound wise for the kids as there is no "chuff chuff" that you might expect. It is fairly quite locomotive in real life. Attached is a video of one someone converted.

This is one in operation in South Africa that I remember well as young boy.

Hi Dave, thank you for quickly information.

The original one spinning the fans like yours?

And how to put sound into, like you did?

A friend is selling a entire collection, but most of locos are delta, without sound.

Its a shame, because I am looking for MFX sound locomotives.

Otherwise, why goes digital without sound.

The models this friend have are:

36852
36856
36792
37171 and
37058.

Thank you!

Hello Joao, if you haven't bought any of your friends locomotives yet I suggest it would work out cheaper to buy one's already fitted with sound to them from the factory. Reason why I say this is all about cost. It is expensive to buy the decoders & you need some skill to fit them. One mistake with wiring & bang they are gone. But if you are so inclined like myself to convert locomotives to digital & fit sound, the efforts are very rewarding. Think carefully before you jump into it. Some locos you can buy special boards that you fit & plug in the 21 pin decoder & off you go. The Condenser tender is really a waste to fit sound as you have seen in the video. Fitting sound to a normal steam loco is much more rewarding. Have a long think about which track you want to go down. There are a lot of very capable members on this forum that will walk you through this if you ask.See this regarding different boards for converting some of your locomotives except the condenser tender: http://luessi.ch/eshop/oc/index...duct/category&path=2
