Hi all - first post

My grandfather introduced my dad when he was young to Marklin while stationed overseas in the Air Force in the late 50's, who in turn continued the tradition to me when I was much younger than I am now. I'm getting back into it and I'm enjoying the differences between M track and C track, with its better running characteristics as well as the less than stellar build quality, particularly of old track bought from ebay. Anyway, for now I'm sticking with an analog setup, and I just bought a pair of turnouts along with their solenoid upgrades. While waiting for them in the mail, I thought of something I'd never thought to experiment with my dad's M track back home - if I plan to have the two turnout set up in a parallel loop, ie. operating in tandem, can I wire them so that one button on the Marklin 72710 opens both turnouts together, and its corresponding green button closes them both? I can't think of a scenario where I'd want one turnout to be in a different position from another in a bypass loop with only one locomotive, so I'd like to wire them together to free up spaces on the control box for later expansion. Anyone know if this is possible?

Hi Brian,

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, this is common practice with switches that always work in tandem. The 72710 control box is overkill in the sense that the feedback only works for some K-track switches, as far as I know. It will do the main job, of course.
