My BR24 044 stalls when I suddenly increase the speed to max, I sometimes have to turn the speed down to 20 or30 scale kilometres per hour. Sometimes I need to give the engine a little push to get it going again.

I have cleaned the engine, to includ the wheels and clean off old grease. I add a small amount of grease on the top Gerard and replaced then engine on the track and the problem persists.

I have 5 other engines V60, BR80, V320, BR95 and a VT75 none of these engines display the same issues as the BR24.

I think it must be the decoder but I am not positive.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Ed.

Hi Ed.

Just clean the Motor carefully there is dirt and oil in collector. Use very sharp needle to clean narrow grooves very carefully that you you will not scratch the copper surfaces of the Collector.

Thank you for your input. I cleaned the worm gear and the connecting gears, put a very small amount Hob-B-Lube on the worm gear.

I ran the engine slowly then fast and the engine stalled, it stops for about 5 seconds then proceeds, runs about 6 track lengths then repeats the stall process.

Could it be a ground issue?

I opened up the engine and looked at the worm gear, with the small amount I used after the thorough cleaning, the grease appeared scant. I added a line of grease along the worm gear, this is about 2 times the amount used at first, closed the enigine and tested.

I was able to accelerate and slow down then accelerate again without issue.

Summary the old grease and gunk was cleaned away and sufficient gear grease applied and my issue is resolved.

Thanks .
