I finished the Marklin light signals and Viessmann vorm signals inside and around station 'Centraal'. I also make a short movie from the shunting activities around and on the transfer table. This was easily done with WinDigiPet. Shunting MovieRegards, Timaximus |

Last weekend we finished the turn-table location. The idea is to park 2 steam locos aside the station track nr. 1. Regards, Timaximus |

The past weeks we created a new place for the laptop with WinDigipet to control the trains. I choose for a stand up location instead of sitting. We sit enough already, right. Further we have a new plan study for an track extension along the east wall. At both side of the chimney we get a couple of long parking tracks. The idea is that the trains with goods will occupy this area of the train table. The passenger trains already have their own location in the main station. The depot area at the former station 'Zuid' is not that big to hold enough goods trains so we actually really need this extension. Legenda - Blue track is parking location for a shunting loc. - Red track is the shunting track. - Green is the wait location for the loc which is pulling the goods train. - Grey is the main track. - White are the parking tracks. - Purple are the decoupling tracks. To get to this extra goods area we are planning an ‘air’ track from concreate which is connected to the main tracks at the old ramp to the station level on the old table a few years ago. Regards, Timaximus |

Last weekend I started with building the shunting extension. I will use these tracks also as parking space for trains. Let’s say it is a small 'shadow station' but then in the open. That is what is missing on this lay-out. The materials to finish these tracks and feedback contacts will arrive today. For the ramp from the main track to this new shunting area I will use a mix of R=1114,6 mm and R=643,6 mm. Red is R=1114,6 mm (24912) and blue is R=643,6 mm (24530). I first build form the shunting area to the green arrow. After that I can see better which track parts I need to buy more for the curves. Between the building process there was a lot of driving. And at some moment when I was standing with my face to the laptop I heard a big bang! Immediately I pressed the emergency button and after that I start looking where the big bang came from. The RAM Tee rammed the container train which is to long for the short track section. I forgot to insert the correct route inside the trainride for the container train. So yesterday I made some corrections inside WDP. I also inserted the extension inside WDP. And you can see that this is also the max for the small laptop screen (17,3”). So I am thinking about a new PC for the trains. Probably a HP Slim desktop with a 24” iiyama touch screen and wireless mouse+keyboard. I also buy some components to make the 'traverse' less noisy (hopefully). Is is a Faulhaber engine. Regards, Timaximus |

Hello Henrik, At the moment I do not build MOC's. I built the Lego from the original drawing. The next one will be the STAR WARS 'Cantina'. I buy all these Lego STAR WARS items for my 8 year old son of course. We dismantled the Ninjago City and Harbour las month so now my son is building some kind of Roblox inspired prison or something. I looked at your creations, and maybe later we will build things like that too, for now it is mostly building from drawing and play with it. Regards, Timaximus |

I started with the track to the shunting extension. The tracks are provisionally placed on some blocks which I borrowed from my son. I am thinking of making a maquette first from EPS plates and later make it from PUR/PIR plates. When I have the correct geometry. I also buy a new computer (HP Slim Desktop, i5, 8GB, 512 SSD) with a iiyame 23,6" Touch screen for controlling the model trains. The old Laptop is not reliable anymore and also the screen size was to small for the WinDigipet layout I have to show on. And with this setup I have a better view over the station area. Hi Timaximus
A quick stop by and hello from the North. As I had to dismantle my own layout (due to teenagers!) I have enjoyed occasionally to check in on the Forum - was amazed this morning to see how far you have come. Still remember how your previous layout was setting standards for the rest of us - can see that is still the case with your new layout. Looking forward to follow your progress - and are again heavily considering starting a new layout myself. Thanks.
Regards, Thomas |

Hello Thomas,
That has been a while yes.
I hope you can start again to some day/soon.
We restarted also a few times in the past.
It is always great to build a (new) table for the trains.
I am starting with the scenery soon. The extension is not that much to build and automate. So now we can orientate and start experimenting with foams to build a modern looking concrete viaduct.
See ya!
Regards,
Timaximus

I ordered some XPS plates for the viaduct between the main track and the shunting extension. So now we are officially started with the scenery. Regards, Timaximus |

Great looking layout. I love the flow of the layout and the benchwork really looks great. Very well done. Looking forward to seeing the scenery begin.

I cut the first XPS curves for the viaduct. I build it in steps so now I wil try to create pillars for these curves first. The XPS plates are easy to shape with thermic cutter, saw, knive and sanding paper. Regards, Timaximus |

Hello MRR friends,
2 weeks ago my father (the Scenery Man) died because of Cancer.
For now I will close this topic. Maybe we will be back at the end of the year. Time will tell.
Please keep this topic clean from condolences.
Feel no sorry, it is good that he does not suffer anymore.
Regards,
Timaximus |
