Hello,
I have various locomtives on my CS3+ and some of them have the speed shown as a % and the others are show as whole numbers. I cannot figure out where this comes from or how to change so they are consistent. Any clues would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Edit the locomotives settings and refer to the "speedometer" A realistic speed limit is taken as the km/h a value 10 or below will set to % From the v1.4 release notes ... ==================================================== Program enhancements... Speed display: Switch between km / h, percentage and gear. The display of the speed can now be changed. - Percentagedisplay : To enter a percentage value, enter the value 10 in the maximum value of the tachometer. This is indicated by a following percent sign after the set value. - Speed stepdisplay To indicate the speed step, enter the speed step number of the decoder in the Tcho. For mfx locomotives this equals 126, for Motorola the value 14 For DCC locomotives, the set value must be set under Speed levels. - Km DisplayAll other values in the speedometer display the kilometer value. In the set up menu you must put manually the high speed of the locomotive. In many decoders the speed is set to minimum so the display show the % value.
Any way this setting has m\nothing to do with real speed of the loco on the layout. Is just a visual effect.
If you want to arrange the speed you must change the minimum and maximum speed settings (0-255). The numbers have nothing to do with real speed or speed under scale. Have only to do with the internal module decoder-motor.
If you want to have speed under scale is extremely difficult to achieve and you have to do it for every loco, with measurements of distance ant time

Thanks.
I think I get it. If I want all the speed to show as a %, I would set my locomotive speed in settings to 10? I just want the speeds to be depicted the same for all locs. |
