I have a BR 24 24 014 Marklin 29240 from a starter set which I foolishly opened up to change the address on only to discover that the decoder had no dip switches. After I put it back together the decoder was no longer recognized by either my MS2 or CS3 though the front lights came on. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it?

If the decoder was recognized before you opened the loco and not recognized after you opened the loco with no other changes made, I would suggest that you reopen it and see if by accident one of the wires to the decoder or to the slider may have broken off.

Hi

Your loco cannot be "recognized as it is not an MFX one. This is normal
The loco has an fx decoder whose address can be changed using the mobile station included in the set.
So, there is probably nothing wrong with it:
- the mobile station may be set to look for another loco
- the address on the mobile station does not match the one on the loco.
Since you have a CS3, you are probably (as with a CS2) able to search the address by putting the loco on the programming track.
Cheers
Jean
