The train, at full tilt of 270km/h on that stretch partially derailed sending many to the hospital with severe injuries including the trains engineer.


Likely cause, a landslide the tracks sit on.

A combination of the landslide & the rail kinks in both rails just beyond .

The straightening defects you can see on the second picture are due to the train derailment. And not the other way round. They are a consequence and not a cause.

In France our trains travel on the left side. As in England.

Meanwhile, we must let the investigation be done in order to have the final conclusions.
