Prototypically, what locos are used in era 3 and 4 for Silberlinge with cab end? I guess the locos must have electrical connection to cab end to make push pull work. Advice appreciated.

"What locomotives to pull Silberbinge" LOL LOL LOL never heard a binge can be silvernLOL LOL LOL

But as Dale wrote: every locos even steamer. See the Insider modell BR 65 with its 3 Silberlinge

And yes of course you need a special connection for the push pull work. This special connection was attached seperately to the Insider BR 65 by Maerklin.

An E41/BR141 or E10/BR110 will do perfectly.

BR 110

E41

Thanks for the advice. I end up acquiring a Marklin Insider BR 65.

Very good, I also like this BR 65 very much and not always in front of my Silberlinge.BigGrin I use it for other trains as well, because this little one is a real nice model.

I have not picked up the item so if I may ask: how do you like its running characteristics? Any advice you can offer?

Even if almost every type of loco has pulled silberlingen, as well as silberlingen has formed part of many different types of train, I think it must be stressed more that the E41/BR141 was the loco practically MADE for that job!

My layout has no centenary so don't contemplate a E41 as the motive power.

I was asking the running characteristics of Insider BR 65.

For me the running characteristics are only excellent. I have the impression that Insider models are with a better finish mounted than other locos. It is only an impression. But Maerklin promises to built Insider models only in Goeppingen. On the other hand all locos have the mSD/3 decoder as its basic decoder inside. This mSD/3 decoder is a really good one. In addition this loco is very well equipped with 30 functions including smoke and red tail lights at the tender of the loco. The only steamer from Maerklin with these red tail lights, as I know.

A little video about an introduction of the BR 65. Hopefully you enjoy it.
