860 unmarked.jpg860 marked.jpgHi
Has anyone got knowledge of the 860 plastic vehicle markings inside the body. In my experience if the Marklin Made in Germany is not inside the car then they were not part of the Marklin sales lines. I believe they were all made by Viking but Marklin had specific colours and Viking had a wider range but apart from that they were identical. I'm looking a small collection and there are 5 different cars .
Regards
Roger

Hi Roger,

have a look at this:

https://tischbahn.de/lil...moplast-der-860er-serie/

Frank describes all models of the 860 series. Some have a Märklin made in Germany marking and some not, but all have been produced in Göppingen at Märklin.

The socalled Wiking "Drahtachser" of the same era look different.

Thanks for that I found it a very informative review. I cannot understand why they would have multiple injection moulds some with the Marklin logo and others without. I managed to get it translated so hopefully it will attach correctly.

Maybe a bit late answer, but it is very simple: most of the 860 models only had a production life of 2 years: 1953 and 1954.
The 1953 series have no inscriptions in the model while the 1954 series have it

Thanks for that. It's a simple answer but I wonder why they produced new jigs just for one year. I'm guessing that they can only be used for a certain number of injections?
