Interesting items but nothing for me in this lot. I might still get one of the shunting diesels from an earlier release.

Nice choice ThumpUp

If ESU does not bring a BR E41 or E10/40 I think I go for a Brawa V160. I believe it will have a metal housing?

Another tempting offer is their E95, although I think I’m in trouble when my wife finds out as its a bit pricey Unsure.

Silberlinge look great, but already have the ESU models on order.

Just wanting to ask since my German is poor, is the Brawa BR 02 or class 02 steam loco made out of metal?

I have a previous version of E95 and it runs well.

BR 02 has the motor in the tender. Just like some Märklin models.
I don't mind. Those who do mind should skip the BR 02.

The BR 06 has the motor in the loco.

A lot of era 2 rolling stock does not have a motor at all. Wink

I look at brochure 'Drive in Tender'.

Most old fleischmann models have tender drive.

I only interesting in loco drive. I am very happy with Marklin BR01 such as 39010 etc run well since brought in 2006

I don’t have any steamers in my collection, so I’m wondering what differences do you experience between a locomotive with the motor in the tender or loco?

Read the product descriptions in the Märklin catalogues carefully and you will find some models. Or check previous threads about driven tenders.

But this thread is about Brawa.

Let's try to explain it in English, sorry for my bad known of the language...

Good point:
Only one, you can see belong the big whells and are free, it's incredible, no gears of the motor, no mtor etc.. you can do it in perfect scale and perfect detail

Bad point
When the locomotive begin the movement to the front the first part that move is the tender that push the lok, and then the lok take movement (horrible to see) and sometimes the wheels of the lok goes more slowly than the speed of the lok (horrible to see)...
Antoher point is that some loks derail from the track...

For me is terrible is the lok have the motor in the tender... some loks in fleischmann have the motor in the tender and a cardan to the lok... so ugly too

This is my opinion only...

Please help me... I have over 170 steam Marklin locomotive... all of the Marklin with tender separate have the motor in the boil....

It's possible that some loks so many years ago have the motor in the tender (i no remeber wich) but modern new tooling (from 70 to now) there's no one with motor in the tender... The decoder yes, but the motor? no

With further apologies for staying off-topic, I think I speak for those who need to know what Marklin locos had motors in the tender, if only to get the mystery solved!

Tom (HO) seems to know but is unwilling to share.

After flicking through old catalogues, I can only think that either the "Adler" or the "Spanisch-Brötli" with their tiny dimensions might have been so fitted. Am I on the right track?

Going through the catalogue once more I discovered this interesting, but pricey train package:
https://www.modellbahnshop-lippe...10/nl/modell_332751.html

It’s a Br 212 with sound and more gimmicks and 4 silberlinge fitted with interior lighting.

I've never bought a non-Märklin lok, but I'm once again tempted by the BR06.

I have a question that maybe an experienced Brawa-buyer could answer. There are three versions of the BR06:

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 12.23.24 PM.png

My guess based on the icons is that I would have to order part number 40227 to run on my Märklin 3-rail, based on the "~" symbol.

However, when I look in the key on the last page of the catalogue it says this:

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 12.24.43 PM.png

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 12.24.19 PM.png

which seems backwards, and then the following seems to support the more usual meaning of "~"

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 12.25.01 PM.png

Is the key to symbols wrong? Which part number would I have to order to have the 3 rail version of the BR06? And would this come with the slider, or do I have to order it separately?

Thanks in advance,
Herman

The 40277 is the Right version. ThumpUp It’s AC. No additional slider required.

I am curious did you order the loco and once received how did you find the running, was the motor in the tender a big negative? was the loco subject to derailing?

I hope you can update.
