Are the Marklin Tinplate Stations made in the 40s, 50s and 60s HO Scale? Do they look good on a modern Marklin layout?

They are likely OO scale. In early days so were all the Loks, as well. Such as the Crocodiles. OO is 1/76.

British model trains still use this scale on HO track. They can get away with it without looking weird because of the smaller loading gauge of British rolling stock.

Hi,

The station on the picture is a KIBRI - station, together with a cover-plate from a Märklin turnout. I like these stations, But I would not try to integrate them in a modern layout.

Also these stations are to small compared to a real 1/87 model. A typical mid-size station - building in a mid-town would be more than 1 meter (+3ft) in length if it would be reproduced in exact 1/87. Nobody has the space for such buildings.

Regards

Markus
