Hi everyone! I am nowhere near my trains this week, and needed a small but large favor if someone can help- on your normal white Marklin rolling stock boxes of the past 20-25 years, what is the width and height? (mm or inches are both fine) of course the lengths vary, but the outer dimensions are the same with the exception of the smaller 4415 beer/promo car boxes.

Thanks in advance! I have come upon a very unique storage solution, but I need to be sure they will fit before purchasing! The height as you would read the label on the end from is my primary need/question. I need them to safely clear 2 3/8"/60mm, or much better yet 2 1/4"/57mm

Much appreciated, images to follow if it works! Also the same for a roco box would be great, but less critical to this mission :)

The height and width of my white boxes vary as well as the length , but a typical box (from a 48282) is 73mm X 50mm . I have many boxes that are narrower, and only a couple are slightly wider.

Hi all, in case of interest, here is why i was asking! It took some refinishing/polishing work, hence the delay, but meet my new rolling stock cabinet! Most importantly, it is wife approved!

There is still a top section I need to work the finish out on and put together, but this give the general idea:

Very nice work! I use something similar but in my case I bought the cabinets from Hardware superstore Leroy Merlin. They are quite cheap and the height is just right for HO stock!
