Was trying to find out any information about this vintage train set by Marklin. I am not even sure what to call it - box does appear to be complete but is missing the cover to the box that likely had the content description. The transformer is a 6450 which I believe is a HO scale? IMG_4565.JPEGIMG_4563.JPEGIMG_4564.JPEGIMG_4562.JPEG

could be US version of 2943 or 2953 but those had two of the passenger cars.....
since it is a 110 Volt version for the US market it is hard to know... perhaps they mixed in an Esso wagon, or it was bought later, along with the signal.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if these were collectible as the bigger models?

Hello Laura,

See topic https://www.marklin-user...our-first-marklin-trains , post #27 for a picture of the complete set.
It is the European 220V version, but looks the same for the rest and is original. the catalogue nr. is 2953 and I got this set in 1967.

As far as I can see your set is not complete and instead has some other items in the box, for example straight track sections and the tank car.

Greetings, Tony.
