The group Dr. Hook sang that they wanted their picture on the cover of "The Rolling Stone". Rod Stewart's ambition was for the cover of Model Railroad, which he achieved a few years back. Since then, quite a few rock stars have outed themselves as model railway fans. Great Stuff.

Rod Stewart, a gentleman, a rock star and a model railroader! A man who we all admire and listen to when we're doing what we love, model railroading! Three cheers to a wonderful truly wonderful man!

Now doesn't that almost sound like us, except we're not rock stars!

Model railroader's are truly admirable people and it shows.

He was in Model Railroader twice, about a year apart. i have both issues, because I happened to get it at the time.

Oh, so we now have two threads on the same newspaper article.

It is also published in The Times.

I bought the Railway Modeller, and was quite disappointed in the article. The UK news papers seemed to have the complete text from the article, and the RM photos are somewhat disappointing. I expected a track plan as well, but that is another omission.

The plan was presented in one of the earlier articles of RM. (The ones mentioned by BD)

-Anyway, I agree that it should have been repeated in the current article.

I don't think that RM has run anything before. BD was listing the articles in Model Railroader.

Personally, I thought that the article was a bit light and nowhere near as good as those in MR.

Yeah, considering Steve Flint (of the channel 5 program) and another staff member went over to his house to generate the article. maybe all they went for was to give him a customised wagon and get their photo taken with him (see end of article).

You would think that a singer with a Model Railway hobby would have an album of great train songs.. All I can remember is something about sailing????
