Hello. I noticed a Marklin model RM800 being sold on eBay by a dealer who is well known in the Marklin community.
First thing the price is to high especially these days.
I just recently sold a very nice condition RM800 with the old type slider and no traction tire wheels for just $81.00.
15 to 20 years ago this would have gone well over $400.00
The condition of the train is fair at best.
They state it is in good condition for age.
Well the train doesn't even have a good slider on it.
Check it out for yourself.
Item #254316376364
I am surprised by this.

It looks a bit tatty, but then I'm not an expert on trains of that vintage.

If you don't think the price is right then don't buy it! The seller can ask whatever price he likes but if no-one is willing to pay it then he'll be stuck with it. On the other hand if someone feels that he can pay that much for this train and buys it, then who are we to question it?

Hmm, need a link, trying that item number on ebay.de, ebay.co.uk and ebay.com produced no results.

Hmm, ships to USA only, that is why I couldn't find it using the item number.

I just want to say for a dealer to list a train in this condition and state the fact it is in good condition for it's age is insane.
He is local to me in Boyertown (about 25 miles away).
Paint missing everwhere and the slider broke?
Really how is this in good condition.
I emailed him about the price ($295.00) and he got testy about it.
Not even free shipping! Wow!
I just wanted to make sure that the Marklin community saw this one.
Do not buy any vintage Marklins from him.

a few harsh words not to buy anything from this guy, anybody can advertise his or her trains regardless of the cost or condition although it is visible the condition I wouldn't classify as very good. I think there are ways of complaining about if an item(s) is wrongly advertised and you can do this by reporting it to ebay. so far price is concerned its in the eyes of the beholder and I've seen some overpriced items but some people don't seem to be put off or find it overpriced. my RM 800 was a cheap buy and I can't remember what I've paid for but it was no where near that price., I didn't get a box with it.

Going for $191.75 now.
Yea that thing has a busted slider and paint missing everwhere on the body yet insists it is in decent shape.

This locomotive needs a restore for sure.
