Recently ESU announced a series of highly detailed n-wagen beter known als Silberlingen. First of them are now delivered.

Now I’m wondering Howe likely it will be that ESU will bring a corresponding Br 110/140 or Br 141 to match the coaches?

What do you think?

If they make profit with their class 103 then I think a class 110 would make sense for them.
If they lose money with the class 103 then they will probably shy away from classes 110/140/141 that are already available from several brands.

Are the ESU coaches really worth 50% more than the Marklin ones?

Märklin want €160 for two coaches with interior lights, ESU want €70 for one coach without light. Märklin want €60 for a single coach without light.
ESU have the correct length and a far better detailing - interior and exterior.
70 vs. 60 is just 16.67% more.

The ESU coaches look nice and IMHO their prices are high, but not exorbitant.

Earlier this week I ordered some Piko Silberling coaches - same length as ESU, but half the price.
I try to insist on correct model length, but do not always need the best possible reproduction of all details.
So there are different models for different needs. Make your choice.

In fact they aren’t 50% more expensive. Lippe is offering the Marklin for around 53 euros and the ESU for 63.

And for that you will get an additional 3cm’s! 😬

I also I think that’s comparing apples and pears, but that’s another discussion.

If you want to compare, than compare the ESU with the Brawa.

ESU will possible present new train models.
But i believe ESU will focus on the new Ecos 3 and it cost a lot of money.

The length of a coach does not have any influence on the price. It is the brand. A Piko or Märklin coach will run always from start. My first ESU coach was more or a less a disaster.

Regarding coaches. I have found Brawa great for detail but way to expensive and dont run as well as Marklin over turnouts although they do get there by changing couplers and adding a bit of weight. PIko are OK and much cheaper but can have similar problems to Brawa but again can run with a few alterations. Can I say I do not have many of the above so my comments are only for a small sample. Marklin will run straight out the box and for me the detail is fine also Roco with the correct Marklin type wheels run well. Don't have ESU but they appear to have problems as posters above have mentioned.
For good running I would say Marklin and Roco and for detail Brawa.
Have wondered about LS models but for the cost the must have something different and don't know how they run.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

I didn't think Piko made 1:87 coaches as I've looked at their Railjet sets., am I missing something ? I've just noticed some of them are 1:87

They have 1:100 (for example in their Hobby line), but also 1:87 (for example in the Expert and Classic lines).
The Silberling coaches discussed here are 1:87.

Roco also have a mix of 1:87, 1:100, 1:93, ...

So it's not enough just checking the brand name, also check the product description.
Even Märklin offer 1:87 models. And even in I gauge they have a mix of shortened coaches and full-length coaches...

Good argument.

I still have hope however. Their previously released Eilzugwagen, were matched by their V200.

Silberlingen without a BR141 or 110 would be a missed chance in my opinion.

Piko's Rail Jet unfortunately is made in 1:100 length.
