Hello everybody,
a few days ago I purchased an unusual Märklin 3355 111 133-5.
This model, like the Märklin 3155, has four steps on the case. Correctly only two stairs would be one on the right side.

Here you can see exactly the problem of the stairs on the housing:

Hi nice observation. !

I do not have these E-Loks, but I think you should be glad those steps were removed and not made longer.
The bogie/truck when swung far to the left or right will break off those steps.
I have an E-Lok 37060 with heater-burner, and the longer hanging steps broken off. ( Sorry no picture )

Seems the steps are now part of the bogie.
Maybe you have a very rare loko in your possession.
Like to hear more comments in the issues.

Thanks HANNES

I've got this loco (3155) with the steps coming from the Housing but have no additional steps on the bogie.

Hi Tee,

I have the 3155. As you say, it has two steps from each of the four doors in the plastic moulding shell.

Also as you say, it is interesting since the 3355 plastic shell molding, according to my Koll's cattledog, should only have the forward left side door with the two steps (pardon the poor copy, the original is B&W) and Koll's only seem to define one version of the 3355 :

However the prototype DB 111 locos of the S - Bahn actually had three steps per door :

Seen also here on the ancestor of your modelled prototype DB 111.133-5:

Have fun with your trains,

Hello,
we have rejected the theory of a prototype in the other Märklinforum( KLICK ), because the 3355 was mapped correctly in 1986 with 2 stairs, but with pantograph 7218.
It's probably an old case slipped into the production. It is equipped with the new driver's cabs with destination displays.
I was hoping that someone here could say more about this variant.
Thanks for the interesting posts.

Other variants of the 3355:

The corrected first version with now only 2 stairs each on the left side, nickel-plated wheel sets, red designed, gray driver's cabs, Relex couplings (have short couplings mounted):

Version 2: now blackened wheelsets, no longer red designed, green driver's cabs, Relex couplings (have short couplings mounted):

Version 3: new bogie frame for NEM manholes
