Dear Friends,

I've since many years now a marvellous model running through the town in my Layout. It is a model of the Wuppertal Schwebebahn. Now I need to replace some pieces, but it seems that Dr. Lutz Hielscher Internet Shop has been closed. Have you, plesae, any news about that? Is anybody taking back his heritage? Thanks a lot in advance for any help.

It looks like Hielscher is out of business.

I have several of their models, both live steam (Gauge 1 and HO) railroad, Wuppertal Schwebebahn and various live steam engines and kits.

It is an unfortunate loss.

But they were pricing themselves out of the market with their models.

This is the same experience I have had with the Hornby OO live steam product. Amazing technology, but pricing was unrealistic, and now an orphaned product. I have way too much of the Hornby live steam as well.

Collecting / Fixing and Running trains since 1966.

According to the shop’s Facebook profile, there was a clearance sale due to the closure of the business in January.

Never heard of Hielscher before, but his products may be still available. I found a few links:

It looks like you still can buy the Schwebebahn in H0. Perhaps you send them a fax. Their websites are quite unusual. As long as you do not send them money I do not see a problem to get in touch with them.

They write:
... "Handmade replicas, construction and material sets are produced in our manufactory. The development and construction of our own products in the model, such as the Wuppertaler aerial tramway in scale H0 (1:87) and of Stirling engines, vacuum engines, steam locomotives also in scale
H0 (1:87) and G, I, running at full speed again.
We also carry out repairs and restore your model steam engines."
