Joined: 18/10/2012(UTC) Posts: 1,378		I can’t help thinking, that Roco are making an unusual choice with this Swiss loco. It’s not like you can reuse the tooling in the same way as other models. Surely there are other locos wanted by modellers, not yet made🤔 Marklin have made unusual choices as well. Why? Can anyone give an example of this. Because there’s still some big gaps. Especially in my own interest of sncb or sncf suff. Take for example Belgium. Am75 emu have been in traffic for along time. And have had a lot of livery changes since there introduction, but have only been made by Lima years ago. Don’t get me wrong. It might well make some SBB fans happy. But if you already own a Märklin one. Are you going to buy this. And if so. Would you buy anther, when there are other Swiss gems that attract you

I agree! I had the same reaction when I saw the new Marklin S3/6. At this rate model railways will be the hobby of millionaires and rock stars only!
		Ray Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Joined: 06/07/2012(UTC) Posts: 1,287		I totally agree! Imagine that for us Canadian's buying Märklin steam locomotives the prices are in the $550.00 to $900.00 range. It's a beautiful hobby but at those prices I’m not a millionaire or a rock star just a humble modeller who's getting the feeling that this is a rich man's hobby! I'm also not willing to pay the price so l'm priced out too!

Imagine if the prices get as high as the snow does here in Quebec and Ontario, Canada! Check out this video I found about getting mad, this guy is for real and this is just for the high amount of snow! Just think what would happen if this guy was a Märklin collector?

Would you buy anther, when there are other Swiss gems that attract you I suspect the bulk of the engineering was already handled by their prior model. And since they make an Ae 6/6 perhaps they were able to graft that cab onto the existing 8/14 model? not a small feat, but nowhere near as bad as starting from scratch

A simple deviation from the subject at hand: this guy, an immigrant, it seems, has not adapted to the rigors of our winter. Just the opposite of me.
